symbol on bottom of vase

hi i cant seem to find an identical symbol for this one tinypic.com/view.php?pic=25f510k&s=7
can anyone tell me anything you might know about it??

Neither can I recognize any of the characters. Either the mark is too blurred, or the characters are not right. The color etc, tells me, however, that it cannot be very old.
