Question about a vase Kang-xi leaf marked?

by Luciano
(Rome)

Hello,
A second last question....
I have recently bought also this beautifully and variously painted vase: it is well blue painted with many figures and the mark in the bottom should be the Kang-xi artemisia leaf mark.
It is bone-china, rather light and translucent.
Do you think it is original?
May I know some meaning of the various scenes?
Thanks again for your kind assistance and best regards,
Luciano

Hi Luciano,

My guess is that it is either European "chinoiserie" or Japanese. The shape looks Japanese. There is not such a vase shape in antique Chinese porcelain. Also, the decoration is much too dense for Chinese. I know such a dense decoration only from items with 'dragon on waves' decorations.
Never mind the Chinese people and the leaf mark. They can be copied by anyone.
