Qing Dynasty Vase

We have in our possession a Ching/Qing Dynasty vessel, a piece of national cultural property registered with the National Museum of the Philippines. It was handed to my father by a friend about twenty years ago.

Its official description is "blue and white, flat body with dragons and floral scroll design, flared mouth flanked by four (4) floral sockets with upright plantain leaves, two (2) stylized ring handles, rectangular splayed foot with plantain leaves design, reign marks at the bottom. It's 28 in. W: 7.5 in. L: 25 in. Late Ching Dynasty - Heirloom Piece."

According to the authorities from the National Museum of the Philippines who assessed the vessel, it is extremely rare and very valuable. But they are not allowed to give appraisals. I'm hoping someone here can. Thank you!

roseanne,

What you do is call or text him, ask for his email, so you could send him the same pictures you sent here. He should tell you everything you need to know about the vessel and the estimate range for that kind of piece. Hope this helps.

your probably best bet is to have it appraised by a certified appraiser in the Philippines. His name is Glenn his cellphone number is 939-314-6361 he also lives around the manila area. He used to work for the national museum. I had my plates inspected by him and had it appraised as well. He is very reliable. I hope this helps you and answers your questions
