Hi, Denise,

I have one, too. Could you send a picture of yours to sherry4ed_at_gmail.com? I promise I will send a pic of mine to you also.

3 men and thier peach

Hi, i have one of these mine came from a traveling second hand dealer over 40 years ago .... so they are Not a resent or a few decades old.
Looking at your pic the peck of the peach is different.
This is so funny as i took mine to a dealer to day to find out more about it.....was told around 1920's made.

3 boys carrying peach
by: Anonymous

I recently purchased this adorable piece at a thrift store and also wondered about its origin or value. Is it a common design? There are no markings on the bottom so I assume it is a mass-produced, inexpensive porcelain, but i love it just the same. Any more info on its symbolism---especially the 3 boys?

peach and boys

Hi Donna,
I just came accross information regarding the subject of this type of figurine.
Apparently this peach is related to the Queen Mother of the West, one of the top Daoist deities.
She is the keeper of the peaches of immortality, and a peach of immortality is depicted in your piece.
In Chinese society the peach has the meaning of 'long life'.

peach and boys

Hi Donna,
This is a peach with three Chinese boys. I assume you thought it was a lotus because of its tip? However, Chinese peaches really do have such a cornered tip. They are never round as the western peach. Very odd shape indeed.
Just from this single picture it is difficult to tell its age, but judging by the glaze it is fairly recent, at the most a couple of decades.
The peach symbolizes longevity.
