Porcelain (fish shape)

by Will
(Australia, Victoria)

Hi,
I'm a beginner that just started to collect Chinese porcelain.

I got 3 items that have been sitting in the family for long time.

I don't know at all what exactly are they and what era they from.

The first attachment would be the fish shape tea pot??

Can you please help identify the era, function, etc?

Many thanks
Will

Thanks for your reply, Peter.

I'm really impress with your comment.
It's a lot of things behind it from the shape, glaze, clay, etc...wow

I really look forward to know more.

Actually, last week I've tried to bring this stuff to few antique shops but none of them could identify it at all. Let alone mentioned the glaze or clay, etc.

Maybe it's quite hard to find an expert about chinese porcelain here.
I was thinking to ask a friend to bring it to China for better identification but I'm worry that
he can't bring it back since China is now very strict about bringing old stuff out.

small pot or jarlet

Hello,
You did not mention the size of this item.
This is a shape I have never seen in Chinese porcelain.
From what I see in these pictures, it looks as if the bottom is shaped like a Yuan dynasty bottom, but I'm not completely sure. To see if it could be that old a hands-on inspection to check on weight and density of clay would be best.

If it is very small, it could be a water dispenser for rubbing ink. These come in all kinds of unusual shapes.
As to the glaze, the purple streaks give an appearance of a Jun glaze, but that is usually not crackled. I don't think this is Jun ware.
I cannot tell from these pictures alone if this is authentic or not.
Let's see if some other visitor knows this specific item type or not.

I forgot to mention that on the surface of the porcelain, I could see some little uneven air bubble...
