old chinese bowl given to me in China from collector who's son I taught

it is covered with old Chinese characters both inside and out..I would like to know the approximate value and date if possible, Thank You, Fred Morgan, Chinese resident since 1996.

Hi Fred,
With the value I cannot help. This is something relative, but I can give you the website of a valuer.

If I shall look at your item, you will have to upload pictures otherwise I cannot tell what you have. Please either upload them to the blog or some place like Flickr or Photobucket, then post the link in the blog.
Resolution should be good enough to see small details, and please add pictures of bottom and foot rim also.
