Looks to be an old ginger jar to me.... Any info Peter?

Here is a lovely teal colored jar which appears to have been a ginger jar. I have a collection of these from on e of my clients and was wondering if you could tell me a bit about this.

I have seen such jars many times.
I'm sure you will find similar items on the Internet if you look for images of "green glazed storage jars".
This is no ginger jar. But, I don't know if it was used just for anything. It could be that it was originally intended for tea, but not sure. Similar jars are/were also used in the Chinese kitchen, etc.
