Thank yo for this information Peter- I think I will follow your advice and not buy it for now. Maybe I had to be more specific about the asking price which is $250 and for me that is serious. I was thinking that is it possible to lower it a bit but still won't cheap if it is a fake.Regards!

Buddha figure by: peter
I tried to find information on Ding Yi Sheng on the Chinese Internet; but I could only find two web pages where someone who owned one of these tried to sell or ask about them. Usually, with the better known figurine shops like "Mao Sheng Ji", etc. you would find information on the founder and/or its location and production period. Nothing on Ding Yi Sheng.
With an outfit that is so little known and the possibility that the item can be at the most vintage (or new), I would recommend not to spend any serious money. Newer items have little collecting value, and are not suitable as an investment. Those who may have collecting value were usually active from the 20s or 30s, at least. Or they were made by a known master potter. I would be careful.

Made by Ding Yi Sheng by: Dimitar
Hello Peter , yes I made better pictures and adjusted the contrast so the mark is readable now. Do you think this could be fake ? If not what would be its age or value? Regards!

Dimitar, I tried to find the maker, but the characters in the middle were not very clear. They are sharp now. The manufacturer's mark says "Made by Ding Yi Sheng". A source on the Chinese Internet says that many fakes of such Buddha figures are sold in China.
