Dear Peter, Hope these new pictures will help with a determination.
I've done a rubbing of impressed mark and a close up of it. Color is close to acurate. Again thank you. Love the blog!
Thank you kindly,
Regards, Richard

Hi Richard,
If it were Chinese and that shade of blue, it would be recent. But I looked a bit around and despite the completely invisible third character found the full mark: 祖洞園池勝製
This is none of the usual kiln or artisan marks.

The strange name could be a place name plus personal name, or purely a place name. The few pages mentioning the name were all related to auction sites in Japan. Korea and China was mentioned, but the search engines of these countries bring absolutely no result. Therefore, as the only information came from Japan, we may have to assume that its origin is in Japan, but little known. Because of the character combination it is difficult to decide what it is. E.g., the first three characters mean "ancestor's cave garden", something that is unlikely as a family name, yet I cannot completely exclude it in the case of Japan. It is unlikely a company, either. Much depends on what the next two character are. They could be related to the first three, but they could also be a personal name.
The information on the search engines was coming virtually all from a few online auctions in Japan, but no information was included regarding the possible origin or age of the items. An auction was also the place where I got the complete mark, but no further information. The other two or three items I saw were not blue and white porcelain like yours; they had celadon based decorations, but all items looked as if they had some age. The mark seems to be mainly associated with jardinieres or planters.
