HOW TO TELL IF REEL. OR FAKE ?

Hi everyone. i found in a charity shop this nice jue wine cup. it took me adges to find out what it was. i have seen these selling in auction houses around the world for high prices. but also seen them selling on e bay for a couple of pounds. how can you tell if there old. or made yesterday. ?.
