left to me by my mother whose family friends included antique shop owners.I would love to know hat exactly it is.

I think this looks like Japanese studio ceramics
from late 19 yo early 20 century

A picture of the bottom (close-up) including the foot rim would be essential for evaluation.
With this lighting it is difficult to see real colors. Pictures should be taken in natural light, perhaps near a window.
From the shape and decoration it seems more likely that it is Japanese. The question is whether it is old or not. From these pictures it could as well be recently made.
