please can anyone identify this vase for me it has been in the family for at lest seventy years, is it Chinese or Japanese.and is it of any value.yours carlton

Japanese vase

The eight character mark isn't all readable. It says:
"Japan Yokohama Kawa(?) Made"
(Made by Kawa? in Yokohama, Japan).

The character for Kawa can also be read Ka, depending on the name, the next character is unreadable but seems to be a name.
