chinese porcelain figure

This was given to me by a family friend of my grandfather. Unfortunately, he passed away, and I didn't get a chance to ask him about it. I know he bought it in Asia many years ago. It is about a foot tall, and has alot of brown in it. There is a brown marking on the bottom, but it has been covered with felt, so it has to be cleaned.

Any information will be appreciated.
