I had this bowl smeared with paint and have try to cleaned it for couple days. Can you help me identify it?. Thank you.

I am sorry forgot to tell you the dimension. Diameter 15 cm, high 9 cm.
My father bought it from fisherman about 30 or more years ago. And thank you for your information.

Is this very large?
Could be earthenware. If there was no dragon decoration, I would assume this is for kitchen use, but a glazed interior means it may have been intended for water, etc..

I do not know this sort of item. I could not even be sure if this is Chinese. Vietnamese kilns did possibly also make such items. Is that from a specific shipwreck?
