blue teapot, w/cups, my query

My neice gave me a teapot, 5 cups, carring tray. It is a beautiful cobalt blue ceramic, with what appears to be gold and white crane flying over a tree. The bottom has a dark red "Japan" with two Japanese characters above it. Interested in finding out about this teapot, cups and tray. Can anyone help?
