Hi Peter, I have had these vases for about 15 years, I always thought that they were Japanese Satsuma because of all the gold and it looks like Japanese warriors on three sides of the vase, but after a crash course on your web site the decoration on these vases look more Chinese than Japanese, I did a web search for satsuma vases and could not find anything with that shape or decorations is this Chinese and can you tell me what it says on the bottom, thanks from Stan.
