Thank you, Peter for your comments, I agree that it is unusual in shape, is what attracted me to it when I first saw it, so possible early Qing, that is good to know, thanks again.

Sorry, I though I had answered to this. I think this is a jar rather than a vase. I do not recognize the shape and decoration as Chinese. Could it be Korean? I know they have some shapes that are different from Chinese and Japanese porcelain. Chinese porcelain seldom has this round, almost ball-shaped form, and the neck is wider at the top, which is also unusual. Normally, there would either be a lid, or the opening would be covered with a cloth, which then is fixed by tightening a string or straw around the neck. But the neck would still not have this form. The decoration on the shoulder, just below the neck has some resemblance to certain early Qing decorations. Looks as if peony petals were depicted. Not sure though if this means it could be Qing.
