Age and value of antique vase?

I received this vase as gift some 15 years ago while visiting Huang Shan mountains. I just wondered

1) how old this might be
2) does it have commercial value?
3) What means the symbol in the bottom of the vase?

This is some 45 cm wide and 9 cm deep.
