This is no traditional Chinese shape.
I'm afraid the odd mark and shape mean that it is modern.
It has some resemblance to hotpots used in the Far East, but without a heating opening it is probably more likely a sort of serving bowl. Might possibly have had a lid. The closeup shows that the painting does not seem to be from the Qing dynasty.
